yellowish, gelatinous ejaculate terribly worrying me

24yro male

recieved oral sex from an old friend, unprotected.

three days later, began feeling a very faint pain inside penis, and external meatus became red and inflamed. ejaculate came out in substantially diminished quantity, yellowish, and gelatinous.

consistency and odor were different: much weaker in both counts.

have been abstinent five months before that and since.

i ejaculate once every 3 days or so, and now only to test myself because i'm so disturbed by it.

it is now nearly six weeks later. i still get that faint pain in urethra, and ejaculate is still the same. meatus still a bit inflamed. even weirder, my urethral opening seems to be much bigger now.

STD batteries all come back negative for chalm, syph, etc. Was prescribed doxycycline empirically for 10 days, 2pd. dosage ended 7 days ago. been told by urologist to just go home and see what happens for a few weeks. but this is scary!

what might be going on? i'm terribly scared.

should i be ejaculating more, supposedly to clear the prostate?

will i get better?

i seemed to respond well to the doxycycline. symptoms were reduced. what might that indicate?

Doxycycline would treat most cases of chlaymdia (even if the tests came back negative).  Infection would be the most likely cause of the symptoms.  Possibilities would include urethritis, STDs as well as prostatitis.  The doxycycline would be the appropriate antibiotic to treat this.

I would consider a thorough digital rectal exam to evaluate for prostatitis.  Any prostatic fluid should be sent off for analysis and culture.  There are some difficult cases of prostatitis where 4-12 weeks of antibiotics are needed.

If the symptoms continue despite the antibiotics, you may want to consider a prostatic ultrasound to evaluate for abscesses (which would not be treated with antibiotics).

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
