Leg / Testicle Pain

by Mosif8, Jul 28, 2004 12:00AM
a little over 2 months ago I started having strange pains in my left knee/leg that seemed to radiate all the way to my groin / side area then a couple of days after this began I had some shooting pains in my lower abdomin...I thought I might be getting ready to pass a kidney stone.  About a week after this began I had unprotected sex with a women and the next day...less that 12 hours later actually I began to have pain in my testicles and buttocks.  Now for the last week or so I have been having pain in my lower ab under my naval about midway or lower to my penis, the testicle pain is still there but seems to be related to the pain in my abdomin. I still have the pain in my left buttock that goes down my legs also but it is not as bad now.  I have also noticed that the pain in my testicles is worse when I wear my wallet (in the right back pocket).  I havent had any painfull urination to speak of, no clouded urine, no discharge either.  Any thoughts?

If i had an STD like Clamydia etc.. would I have the pain and no discharge etc?

Prostatitis, epididymitis, or even urethritis come to mind.  You do not necessarily have to have discharge to go along with pain.

I would test the urine for bacteria and white blood cells, swab the urethra for gonorrhea and chlamydia.  A thorough digital rectal exam should be done to evaluate for prostatitis.  A scrotal ultrasound can be done to evaluate the epididymis.  Prostatitis can certainly cause the pain and discomfort you are describing.

Non-infectious causes would include a hernia.  Imaging studies such as a CT scan or ultrasound can be considered for further evaluation.

You may want to discuss these possibilities with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
