Scrotum Thickening and other skin problems

by RichD, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
Dear Sirs:

Can heavy metal toxicity, other toxins, or skin parasites cause thickening of the scrotum and lesions on the scalp and head? Is their any other know cause for this to occur or tests and treatments available?

Thank you,

RichD

Although possible, I am not aware of specific heavy metal toxins nor parasites that can lead to skin thickening.  I suppose that a local parasite infection can lead to scar tissue formation that can cause thickening.

If there is suspicion of metal poisoning, you can consider testing the blood for the specific toxins.

A biopsy of any suspicious skin lesion can further evaluate the cause of any thickening.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
