If you've only been running for one week, it's too soon to see results. Unless you also cut back drastically on your calories.

If you are serious about losing weight, cut back on your calories and substitute weight training for running. Pumping iron will give you a longer lasting calorie burn AFTER you are done exercising.

You didn't say how long you were running in each of your sessions, but if you are going out for say 15 or 20 minutes each time, you will have done nothing to further your fitness level (and possibly not your weight loss).

I suggest a low-carb or no-carb diet. Atkins is a good place to start if you don't know anything about them. And do some weight training. If you stick with both of these plans, you will be amazed at the results.

Good luck.

I recommend you measure yourself once a week. You might be loosing inches, just not in the areas you would like to yet. I also recommend weight training but still keep doing cardio once a day. Look into HIT for cardio. I don't recommend a low carb or no carb diet your muscles need the glycogen which it gets from carbs, You might need to cut back on them because most of eat too much carbs in our daily diet. Also try eating 6 small meals protien at each meal try to make them well balanced meals.

good luck

Suddenly running twice a day sounds like a recipe to get injured. You have to slowly get your body used to running. I would suggest running every other day initially and work your way up to running everyday.
Good luck.

I started fast walking with intervals of jogging on Jan 5, and didn't see any weight loss for 3 weeks, but during that time, I lost 10 inches off of the 12 measurement sites I was tracking on www.mybodycomp.com 's body fat monitor.  It said that I had actually lost 6 pounds of fat by then, but had gained 3 pounds of muscle.

I wouldn't suggest trading running for weight training. BOTH have their place in weight loss.  But if you have just started running (or just started again), since running is a weight-bearing exercise, you will build muscle in your lower body that way.  Weight training is great for weight loss because it burns energy and builds muscle, and once you build more muscle, your metabolism gets faster, and you firm up too.  Muscle is more dense than fat, so two people with the same weight will look different... one with more fat will look bigger than one with more muscle.

Keep up the running. It is such a great way to adjust your diet and metabolism and cardiovascular health gradually. Sure the weight comes off slowly and after a week you will not see any results yet but exercising alone makes you crave healthier foods without any particular diet. You will need a bunch of carbs, the good type like multigrain products, to keep your muscles going and unless you become a marathon runner, your body will probably rather look healthy and strong than bony and fragile, but hey, that skeletton fashion trend will not last forever. You made a healthy choice - unless you have knee problems... I just started a pretty strenuous exercise regimen three times a week and was a bit irritated that my clothes felt tighter. It is as if muscles first swell up for a few days with any fatty deposits on top...but then the deposits start melting away. They really do eventually.

Good point but after a hard workout you are more likely to be retaining water due to muscle fatigue. Drink up the water

That is interesting! I sure am often dehydrated as drinking water during or right after exercise makes me feel nauseated. And later I forget.
