.I've been on Depo Provera for 3 years now and I never get my period. I am sexually active but always have had regular clear discharge. For about 5 days I've been having light brown discharge. I didn't know if this has happened to anyone else or if anyone knows what this could mean?

.I used Depo Provera for about 2 years and during that time I never really had a "period". I had occasions, usually after intercourse, where I had breakthrough bleeding that was kind of brownish looking. I would naturally think that was going to be the period and prepare with pads and such, then it went away as fast as it came. My gyn told me this was normal with Depo. Now this was in 1995-1997, so I don't know if it's changed since then.

.The depo shot causes spotting and bleeding, sometimes for months on end. It's a (awful)side effect for some people. See how it goes for the first 3 months and then decide if this form of birth control is right for you.
