Trouble with Paxil Withdrawl

by Suz, Dec 03, 1999 12:00AM
Hi. I have been taking paxil for 5 months for postpartem depression. Per my OB I am weaning off Paxil, however I have recd limited info on the weaning process. I have been taking 20 mg per day and for the past 6 days have been taking 20 mg every other day. I take it at night and am OK the next day after a dose, however the day after I skip a dose, I am queasy and dizzy. How long should this last and how should I proceed with the weaning process from here on out. I am nursing and wondered if my baby will also experience these symptoms?? I do not seem to have a good resource for specific information about this whole process. Emotionally I feel great, but physically I am not doing as well.

I posted this in an other q about paxil.  My wife went thru what you are going thru.  It took a few weeks---after she stopped altogether.  Meaning, she weaned off, had probs, probs subsided 2 -3 wks after she stopped.  I have very strong opinions about these drugs, ssri's now.
