Question Title: hemodynamicsForum: The Heart Forum
| |
i am a ICU nurse, recently employed in a cath lab, in need of a reference book on hemodynamic monitoring and calculation. I know, u would think the hospital could help me, this doesnt seem to be the case. any ideas, please? thanks in advance. jfaley ________ Dear Jfaley, You could pursue one of two routes here. One option is to purchase the standard reference test for cardiac catheterization used by cardiologists everywhere: This will discuss in detail the principles of hemodynamic measurements, calculations of cardiac outputs, valvular stenotic orifice areas, and a great deal more about the art and science of catheterization laboratory techniques. Another method, albeit a shortcut, would be to purchase a handbook of cardiology that also addresses similar issues. One that I like is written by Morton Kern, and entitled "the Cardiac Catheterization Handbook" . This book is much more concise and will likely address the salient points in a more efficient manner. You might want to look at both of these and see which you're more likely to read and consult. Best of luck
