Question Title: Arterial bypass/cervical disc problems

Forum: The Heart Forum
Topic: Bypass Surgery

I have five friends/relatives that have had bypass surgery, then a few years later had cervical discs rupture. Usually disc surgery is required. Have there been any studies on this? Is it coincidence? Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Paul

Yes it is a coincidence. Cervical disc disease and bypass surgery are both common in older people, and can thus coexist.

I hope this has been useful. Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck.
