HI.Oam A 25year old black male wondering about heart disease. Ive been having what my doctor calls panic/anxitey attacks for the past four months. and even though he has done an EKG,blood test an pressure,ct scan(of the brain) because of headaces,an had me where a event monitor and all of the test were normal. Yet still
I'am worried about my heart. SO QUESTION #1 IS with all the test noted above is there any other test i could or should have my doctor do. The reason I ask is because the symptoms that i have worry me the ones that worry me the most is that that iam wake up from sleep gaspping for an my heart is raceing its not a PA a least I dont think it is ive awken up from sleep with an PA thats no fun.
also chest pain i have them but not sure if its cardiac related.I"am also having dizzy spells an i always to be able to feel my own heart beat sometimes it seems like it going to stop! Last thing left arm pain sometime i get pressure pain in my left arm i dont know what is.
My doctor seem to think all thease thing come from anxiety which could be true. but take in fact that 1 thease symptoms 2 iam black male 3 my diet 4 the history of heart disease on my father side of the family5 that people younger younger are dieing and having problems with their heart. i just do know if i should risk it all own a doctor that may or may not know what is going with me an just say anxiety as an easy out!

any & all comments are welcome.

Dear T

I am sure that you are concerned about your symptoms. It appears that your physician has done an extensive review and has provided some assurance that this is not your heart. I would recommend a Holter monitor or an Event monitor to track your heart during these episodes. You can keep a diary while wearing this monitor to describe these symptoms and will have your heart monitored through one of these spells.

I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back and keep us informed of your progress.

Information provided here is for general purposes only. Specific questions should be addressed to your own doctor. If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter. The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
