I am a 32 yr old female who has been having chest pain on the left side
for at least 6 months. It is a burning/tightening sensation. It becomes
really bad at night when I lay down, or throughout the day when I'm sitting
still. I walk on the treadmill 5 times a week, and I don't have any pain
while exercersing, in fact if when I have the pain activity is what helps
more than anything. The Gastrologist didn't find anything wrong, so my
doctor was treating me for chest wall pain, with Lodine (which didn't help)
until I saw the Cardiologist. At the Cardiologist I was given a stress
test and echo____, the Dr. reading the test mentioned that I have a heart
murmur and mentioned a leaky valve. It was late in the day and after the
test they sent me home, without an appointment specifically for the
results. How long does it normally take to get your results? If it was
something major would they have told me then? Can a heart murmur and
leaky valve cause this type of pain?

Thank You
