Question Title: Beta Blocker and Coenzyme Q10

Forum: The Heart Forum
Topic: Arrhythmia

Will Coenzyme Q10 help decrease premature ventricular contractions or PAC's? Is it OK to take Conezyme Q10 along with other antioxidants, such as Vitame E and B?
If a beta blocker, such as Inderal, is prescribed for the irregular heartbeat, is it OK to take Coenzume Q10 along with it?
Would the herb, hawthorn, help?
Thank you,
Mary

________

Dear Mary,

Thank you for your question. There is no evidence that Coenzyme Q10 will help decrease premature ventricular contractions. There is also no evidence on drug interactions with Coenzyme Q. I would discuss these issues with your doctor before starting any new medication on your own. Hope this helps. Feel free to write back with any additional questions.
