: I have read that CoQ10 is deficient in folks with Congestive Heart Failure and that is one takes CoQ10 the only way to know if the person is getting a therapeutic does is by measuring blood levels. What blood level of CoQ10 is considered healthy or therapeutic. Thank you

________

Dear Barbara,

Blood levels of Co Q 10 in the range of 0.7-2 micrograms per ml have been reported in normal healthy people. There are some studies that report 0.5 to 0.6 microgram/ml in normal people. So, I think that anything below 0.5 microgram/ml can be considered low. However, data to support supplementation for the same are very controversial.
