Question Title: Atrial fibrillation & marijuana useForum: The Heart Forum
| |
Is there any research on frequent marijuana use and atrial fibrillation. We would like to know any correlation. It seems like marijuana only affects the lungs, however if it is a hazard to the heart beat, we'd like to know. The person is 50 years old and is an otherwise healthy person. Tahnk you. Thank you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Concerned Current marijuana use can definitely cause or contribute to arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation. Marijuana is bad for the heart, as well as the lungs. I hope this is useful. Good luck. Feel free to write back with further questions.
