I get these pains at all times of the days or nights ...Should I be concered..I am 54 years old and in pertty fair shape as I wait tables...but I do smoke..yes I know that is bad..Can you give me an answer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Sheila You should call your doctor and make an appointment to be evaluated by your doctor. The symptoms you describe could be related to your heart. A more thorough medical history and physical will help determine whether you need a cardiac stress test. As a first step, your internist could examine you and then refer you to a cardiologist if necessary. You should also try to stop smoking. I hope this has been useful. Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck. Information provided here is of a general nature. Specific diagnoses and treatments can only be made by your doctor. If you would like to be seen at the Cleveland Clinic, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE for an appointment with a cardiologist at Desk F15. |
