Question Title: HTN-Zyban

Forum: The Heart Forum
Topic: Hypertension

Dr. Doctor,

I know a 40 yr old with a history of HTN controlled with Accupril.
He would like to stop smoking and has made some attempt on his own
without success. I suggested Zyban. Would there be any contraindications?
Thanks so much,
Linda

Dear Linda

Any measure to stop his smoking, including Zyban, would be a good idea. The hypertension medication should not interfere. Hopefully, the Zyban will help.
