Question Title: Joint pain

Forum: The Heart Forum
Topic: Heart Attack

I have written you regarding my spontaneous coronary artery dissection which occured on Oct 6, 1998. I now am having lots of pain in my arms both left and right. I notice that the pain is in the shoulder, elbow and especially the wrist. I do sometimes have the pain in between the shoulder and elbow. I never had any pain like this before the heart attack. My doctor tested me for rhematiod arthritis when I had this type of heart attack and it was negative. I now have 6 stents in the RCA could the pain be related in some way? Thank you so much.

Melissa

Dear Melissa, thank you for your question. Your symptoms could be an atypical presentation of recurrent angina, so I suggest that you see your cardiologist. I really can't determine from the information you've provided whether your symptoms are cardiac-related or due to a primary joint problem.

I hope you find this information useful. Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only. Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies. Please feel free to write back with additional questions. Good luck!
