patent Ductus Arteriosus in Adults

I am a 43 year old female just diagnosed with PDA. Do you have neurointerventional doctors that can do coil closures on PDA? If so, how often is this procedure done and how safe and effective is it?

Actually, our pediatric interventional cardiologists do the coil embolization of the PDAs. The procedure is straightforward, relatively safe and effective. Before deciding to proceed with such a procedure, you would need to undergo a thorough evaluation here in the adult congenital heart disease clinic, where pediatric and adult cardiologists evaluate patients together. You could call 1-800-CCF-CARE and ask for an appointment with Dr. Murphy of pediatric cardiology.
