fast heart rate/pvc?

by char chavez, Sep 21, 1999 12:00AM
I was wondering if a fast heart rate can also be related to pvc's?  I have had several tests done and they all were normal and have been diagnosed with PVC's.  However, every once in a GREAT while I get a very fast heart rate and have to sit down until it passes.  It is very frightening and if I move or anything it feels like it will come out of my chest.  I am on tenormin(25mg) and it doesnt really affect my pvc.  I was wondering also if it could be the cause?  I tried up to 100mg of the tenormin but nothing except extreme tiredness.

Dear Char,

No, there is no link between PVCs and fast heart rate.  The tenormin won't cause fast heart rate but may be a good treatment as long as you are not getting side effects.  There are some good postings on causes of fast heart rate in the archives.  Good luck.
