.I had chest pain on the right side towards my right arm, went to th Doctor and had routine stress test done. At 176bpm, Doctor noticed "changes", and ordered a Thallium Stress test next week to confirm/investigate further. I am 35 years old and have high cholesterol(263)and used to smoke up until chest pain, sedentary life style (about 20 pounds overweight). If I have a Blockage, I would assume that it is Lipid based - but is it all likely that I could have a artery blockage at this age? If yes, can the blockage be dissolved/reduced through oral medication, rather than angioplasty or surgery? I am Scared!

MikeYou are wise to quit smoking now although it is too bad it took this to get your attention. I would wait and see what the thallium results are before jumping to conclusions. It could be nothing. Just because you are 35 however does not mean you can't get blockages. Even if the thallium is normal you are at risk for developing problems in the future and therefore still need to modify your lifestyle. So stay away from the cancer sticks, develop healthier eating habits and start an exercise program with your odctors consent.
