Tenormin

by William Wilson, Dec 03, 1999 12:00AM
I hav been taking Tenormin for 2 weeks now but am due to come of it on monday. I was getting palps and had mildly elevated hbp which my doc thinks has been a product of stress.

Luckily all my symptons have since dissappeared.

I am going for a medical for a job abroad on tuesday and question is: Will the nurse be able to find traces of tenormin if she does a blood and urine test or would she have to be specifically looking for it? and secondly what are the standard things they look for in your blood and urine during a routine medical. Thanks for your time

Tenormin will not show up on a blood test.  Each physical is different but routine blood work includes a blood cell count, kidney  function tests.

they may aslo check for hepatitis.

I am a 44 yr. old woman, caucasion, 240lbs., 5'4" tall. My mother had heart disease. I was put on Tenormin a year ago., I also have problems with sinuses. I have a times sensation of coolness in my scalp, and have for years, and some pinching feeling at times in my neck. Wne I was put on Tenormin, I noticed that my heart beat was more forceful(kind of disturbed me) and I have felt cool sensations in my chest, side etc. ever since being on it. Is that a common side effect. They told me it would regulate my heart rate some and increase the effectiency of the strenght of beats. I have lost 20+lbs. in 2 years, but am on a stand stil and live with and help my 80 year old Dad, so have kind of a sendenary life. Should I have concerns about the twinges in my neck and cool sensations in my head and body? It seems that my nasal inhaler seems to help the discomf. in my neck a times. I have NO insurance.Thank you
