pacemaker with thalium stress test,

by missiva, Dec 21, 1999 12:00AM
Since a year ago and last thalium stress test I have now gotten a pacemaker, changed medications yo Atenol, Amiodaone, Lasix, K-Dur, Philosec, valium as needed, I have a history of panic attacks, use valium as needed, hypertension, my pacer is set @ 60, my pressure is usually 130/70 or 140/80 if upset, my question is if I get too hyped on treadmill and they would use the drug where you don!t use the treadmill, I have heart it makes your heart race and your stuck with it, where as on the treadmill you can get off if it gets too elevated..I also have a bad rotar cuff I!m treating for, impossible to raise my arm high over my head for 20 minutes of x rays, what can I do??                  IVA

Dear IVA,

I'm not sure what your question is.  If you need a stress test persantine is a medicine to stress your heart without exercise this may be a good option for you.
