This is a low dosage, but I would not assume it is ineffective. I think it is often prudent to start with a low dose and increase if necessary. Switching to another beta blocker is unlikely to be more
effectiveEffective strength cough syrup, unless it is a larger dose that is prescribed. It is possible that switching to another beta blocker, such as
metoprolol, will produce less headaches, but the only way to know would be to try.
hope this helps.

so as not to get too high, which could cause undue stress on valves and such...i have marfans and have been on it for 16 yrs. and just now my aorta is increasing in size. Was on 50 mg per day was reduced immedietely when it made fingers and extremities tingle too much ....25 mg per day once per day .. but i feel slow in am before i take dosage..
Also anyone know how signifcant the difference in 4.9cm ballooned aorta and 5.0cm is. Dr. tells me they wont do surgery till 5.0, also have mild regurgitation from mirtal valve. since dec. 1999 have been very fatigued and no energy some days better than others though...bad cholesteral is 133....? how bad is that, i weigh usually 173-175, lost weight last month to 163, no different eating habits , slight increase in physical activity but felt good last two weeks... so many questions and so little time...worry to much? dunno? any input would help..
I could give you a long story about my particular case, but the essence of it is that A-fib is not particularly dangerous, and can certainly be corrected (via a cardioversion) and usually controlled with a combination of medication and diet (featuring verrry low amounts of alcohol, if any). Everyone is different, of course, and there are different levels of treatment, including surgery. Obviously you need to do some more reading and, more importantly, find a good cardiologist who can advise you and your boy friend on the best path to take. (no, I'm not in the medical profession, but I do have faith in doctors).
I wouldn't worry too much, but it's still a good idea to get professional help.
