Cough and wheeze

by Jade, Mar 03, 2002 12:00AM
Hi, I have CHF and take Coreg, prinivil, digitek, lasix, coumadin, Hydraulzine(I'm not sure if i'm spelling these right?) In January I started getting a cough and wheeze several times a day, most of the time after I ate. I was also started on Zocor at that time, so I took myself off the zocor after talking to my nurse. It's been four days and the cough and wheeze has happened only once in those four days. My question is- could the Zocor be the cause of the cough and wheeze, and how long should it take for the zocor to get out of my system?

Dear Jade,

Zocor does not usually cause cough or wheezing.  Prinivil may cause cough but this would happen soon after you started taking the drug.  Other possible causes would include worsening of your heart failure, viral infection or pneumonia.
