cryomapping

by VTBen, Apr 28, 2002 12:00AM
I am 24 year old male and have a non sustained right ventricular outflow track VT.  I've had several ablations and am waiting for cryomaping and cryoablation for a hopeful cure.  To my understanding, the Freezor system is in testing in the atriums.

Question 1: I've been hearing of this new system for about 2 years.  Is there any idea or best quess as to when this procedure will be used in the Ventricles for testing or widespread use?

Question 2:  Is this procedure being used in Europe?  Is there any info to how it is working over there?

Question 3:  Can fasting worsen my arrythmia or trigger it?

Thank you for your time

Question 1: I've been hearing of this new system for about 2 years. Is there any idea or best quess as to when this

procedure will be used in the Ventricles for testing or widespread use?

A: Once it is approved for use in the atrium it will be able to be used off-label in the ventricle as well.  This should happen in the next year or so.

Question 2: Is this procedure being used in Europe? Is there any info to how it is working over there?

A: Cryo is widely used for atrial arrhythmias in Europe but I haven't heard of any trials involving cryo and vnetricular tachycardia. This is not to say it is not being used for this purpose.

Question 3: Can fasting worsen my arrythmia or trigger it?

A: It shouldn't increase it significantly.
