What is the significance of a HDL-C of 108 mg/dl ?? I realize concern of a low HDL-C, but should one be concerned about a level so high ?

Dear wally,

This is a great HDL! HDL is considered the "good cholesterol" and the higher the number the better. A low HDL is considered <35 mg/dl and is an independent risk factor for heart disease.

It means that you win the longevity lotto and will live to be an old man, if you don't get cancer or die in a car accident.

They test these old ladies that live into their 90's and usually find very high HDL levels.
