different medicine

Hi,

I have been diagnosed with Rosacea and was given Metro Gel or cream. As they did help the acne they did not help the redness.

Is there any other medicine besides Metro Gel that could help the redness? I also cannot put any creme such as moisturizer or even face wash on my skin because ti just makes it so red, most of the time immediate. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Saphier

Saphier:

I'm afraid there really is no medicine to take away redness. Rosacea medications are helpful for pimples and pustules.  Lasers can help minimize blood vessels.  When it comes to redness, however, the best you can do is tried to avoid factors which trigger flushing (like wine or coffee) and use makeup, especially green-tinted foundations, which cover red more effectively than flesh tones.

I know this is not exactly the answer you were looking for,but it's an honest one.

Best.
