Cavernous Hemangioma

As a child I was diagnosed with (as far as I can see) cavernous hemangioma. After doing some research I found out that the most common treatment is surgery. That also happened with me. What I haven't been able to find is some indication that radiation therapy can be used (as was in my case). Could anybody tell me the indication for Cobalt radiation therapy in C.H.-cases

All the treatments for hemangiomas--cortisone injections, lasers, freezing, radiation--have pluses and minuses. I am not familar with the details of radiation therapy. You should consult one or more physicians with considerable experience in this area before proceeding. You may also want to look into information on the web, such as the site offered by the American Academy of Dermatology, as a point of departure:

My physician suggested that I learn the specifics of my treatments. He said that in the eventuality of my requiring radiation in my lifetime, radiologists may be reluctant, without the details of my exposure. I know I had 8 treatments. The scarring is undoubtedly the worst tissue scarring I have ever seen. The hemangioma were in several locations. Can you offer any direction at all?
One curiousity, can hemangiomas be caused bu prenatal injuries?
That was my mothers suspicion?
