we have a 2 yr old girl who for the last 7-8mo has had a dry rash that looks like little red pumps  as if she where stuck by pins on both her upper arms and legs and sometimes the skin around them become red to. we have tried lotion but it does not seem to help. when she was about 9mo old she had a persistant atopic dermatitus that lasted for almost 2mo and she did not respond to cortizone meds she went through 2 botles and west wort cream we still have some left would that maybe help her other rash also couild this be related somehow.

Joanna:

The dry rash you describe certainly sounds like infantile eczema.  Why don't you try Westcort, which is mild, on a couple of areas to see if it helps?  Perhaps you should also have the doctor who prescribed the Westcort have a look.

Best.

My husband is in his 50's and he had double hernia surgery in 98 dec and another one in jan 99, Well by april of 99 he started itching on his arm's, we thought it was the clorin in the water. when we got him to a doc. in another state we found out he has diebetices and so The dr put him on med. for it, well the itching got worse and they took him off the med and the itching is no better. They gave him itch cream and medication and still no better.Know he is controling his Diebetices with diet, no med's, the rash is like poison ivey but no fluid, Drives him up a wall. The medication for the itching was causing him to sleep a lot and throwing off his equiallibreum. I'm woundering if his P gland is not working or if Agent Orange side affect.I know he can't stand much more of the itching all day and night.Thank you.
