Would like treatment information for the following condition. Child 10yrs old. Areas affected are back of the arms, legs, some on side of face(mild). Appearance: pores are red with dry scablike formations. Skin is not itchy, no complaints from child. Just gets attention from others, ex: "What's wrong with your skin?"

I'm not sure. If it doesn't itch, it probably isn't eczema. It may be a hereditary skin condition called keratosis pilaris (bumps in the areas you describe in other relatives?) Try an OTC lotion containing an alpha-hydroxy acid or 20% urea (check with druggist) and gentle rubbing with a loofah or Buf-Puf a few seconds a day. Also, shoe the pediatrician next time.
