Itching Skin

I have a severe itching on my arm, more so to the right. I have tried everything to no avail. This has been going on apx 7 years and on off situation. The problem started again recently and has not stopped. What could it possibly be? I have actually scarred my arms from scratching them.

Sometimes itching and scratching reinforce themselves in a vicious cycle. Try this: get some OTC pramoxine lotion (ask your druggist), apply it every time you feel like scratching (it's an anesthetic to numb the skin), keep the areas covered (long sleeves, etc.) when you can. Then watch the rash go away. If it doesn't, I suggest consulting a dermatologist.
