Calcium deposits around eyes

by Jill, Jan 25, 2001 12:00AM
My husband, who is 38 years old, has small, light colored "bumps"

around his eyes (mostly on and around lower and upper lids).  They are slightly lighter than the healthy skin around his eyes, and have a raised, "bubble-like" appearance.  I have seen much more severe cases in other, older people.  We have been told they

are "calcium deposits".  Is this true?  Can they be removed or can the effects be reversed?  Can anything be done to prevent them in the future?  Thank you.

The small white cysts or milia you describe are often called "calcium deposits."  I don't lnow what they're from, but milk intake and cream application don't seem involved.  They can't be prevented, but light sparking with an electric needle gets rid of 'em pretty good.  Have his doctor check them at his next physical, just to be sure.  Hopefully the old boy has some good points too.

Best.
