navel pain § discharge

by lynktus, Feb 15, 2001 12:00AM
Hello, I have had for the past two days a slight pain in my navel when I sit up from a reclined position, and yesterday I realized that there was a pinkish discharge from my navel.  It seems to be blood and some clear discharge together, and it smells horrible.  If it was just the discharge, I wouldn't be as worried, but the blood kind of worries me.

I have been cleaning it with Q-tips, and yesterday I bought some 1% hydrocortizone creme and applied it.

Is there any more I can do?  Should the blood concern me?

Sounds as though your innie has become a haven for yeasts.  The blood just means there's been some irritation--don't worry.

I suggest you see a doctor.  Meanwhile, compress the navel with warm tap water for 10-15 minutes a day, dry under a heat lamp if you have one, and apply clotrimazole 1% (over-the-counter.)

Best.

i have had my belly button ring for three days... i took it out because on the piercer didn't pierce it correctly and because the ring was too tight. i used sea salt and anitbacterial soap, and peroxide to help my hole close. there a slight problem. a small part of my hole is dark green but only white pus is ozzing out. i can see my white meat of my navel. is there an infection?
