What is Dermatompolit or Dermatomyolit?

by Robnme11, Mar 22, 2001 12:00AM
We have a friend that has that illness and we were wanting to know more about it?  She is in intensive care and we are very concerned.  We are not sure if we wrote it down correctly so I tried to spell it both ways.

Any help would be greatful

Thank you

I'm afraid I can do no more than guess.  "Dermatomyositis" is a condition affecting the skin and the muscles.  Although this is debilitating, I'm not sure how it would land someone in intensive care, unless there are other problems going on at the same time.  You might want to talk to your friend's doctors for more information.

Best to you and your friend.
