Dry patches on penis

by helpmeeeeeee, Jul 12, 2003 12:00AM
Hello Doc-

Please help me out with this one. Last night I had unprotected sex with my girl friend, and immediatly after sex I noticed the area at the bottom of the head of my penis was swollen and kinda red/white. There was nothing on the shaft only directly below the head. It didnt hurt, but I did notice it kind of itched/burned during sex. There was no discharge or puss. I masterbated a couple times that day before the sex with Lubriderm (unscented) moistureizing lotion. The swelling went down alot the same night and in the morning the swollen area wasnt swollen it was just like dry patches, which I have had before.  There is no pain anymore and no more itching. This all happend last night and I am gonna go get it checked out, its just me and my girl are sooooo scared.  I did swim alot in a hotel pool on the 4th of July weekend and that really dried my penis out. Could it be something to do with the clorine or a bacteria infection.  The last time I had unprotected sex with another girl was around new years, and I havent had any problems, besides dry skin, up till now. The patches are now very light and where the main swelling was is dry and not swollen or sensitive. What could this be. Please let me know. Thanks soooo much

Sincerly,

G

If it was swollen and dry immediately after sex, then it must be what it sounds like anyway--irritation from friction.  No STD comes right after sex.  The masturbation probably contributed.  When swollen skin goes down, the skin can look dryish, just as you describe.  Just moisturize and avoid sex for a couple fo days and you'll be fine.  If the symptoms persist, please see a skin doctor.

Best.
