Need 2nd opinion

by Concerned4sure, Feb 02, 2004 12:00AM
About 8 months ago I noticed two small bumps on the "rim" (not sure proper term) of rough skin below the bell of my cirumsized penis.  I have always used condoms, but immediatly became concerned about hpv.  I did the vinegar test at home and I could see no color change whatsoever on the skin.

I went to a uroligist and he looked at the area slightly and moved the skin around and told me that there was nothing to worry about, that the area was normal.  I want to believe this diagnosis, but I just wanted to get a second opinion and a possible explanation of what this could be, which I failed to ask for when I saw the uroligist.

The bumps remain 8 months later and do not seem to have grown or changed any, except maybe gotten slightly smaller since I first noticed them.  The bumps are very small, probably the size of the tip of a pencil lead.  They can really only be seen or felt when the skin is stretched or I have an erection.  Two tiny white dots are usually visible and are more visible for a couple of hours after I take a shower.  Hence, I do not think this is related to water, because they seem much more visible even after I am compleatly dry and for a few hours later.  I believe that these white dots sometimes flake off.  They do not look like any pictures of genital warts that I have ever seen, but just want to get a second opinion or maybe a guess at what else could be causing this?  A possible explanation I have read on the net is that the wite dots I see flaking off is sebum (sp?) that is being secreted from the area?  Is that a possibility?  I appreciate your time and help.

I think you are describing pearly penile papules.  Please check out the image: http://www.willyworries.com/index.php?id=90

By all means, get another opinion, but I think it will be the same as the first.

Best.

Thanks for your quick response doctor, the picture you directed me too looks somewhat similar to my situation, my only question is that mine are located farther up the shaft from the bumps in this picture ( and any other picture of ppp that I have seen).  My two bumps are located up from the head of the penis in the rough skin that separates the head of the penis from the smooth skin of the shaft.  Can ppp occur there as well as the traditional location shown in most pictures?  Thanks again for you help.

They may be cysts--but the (lack of) serious implications remains the same.

I dont know if I have sebacious glands or not a saw 2 doctors both gave different answers.

If i pull down the forskin of my penis on the bottom side right below the head of the penis or under it there are these little bumpy things not really that noticable, they sometime produce crystal like things, that i can pull off and it doesnt hurt. But they havent been producing crystals lately, I remember i got them a some time after sex and when hair started to grow more on and around my penis. they are kindve rough i pulled 1 of some fo them off. There about 4 of these little bumpy things that make these white head with regular like skin below them. There used to be 6 or more but i pulled the white stuff of and it went away. I know i didnt clean that much i think or i dont know during these things came but ive been washing them alot now and they havent gone away they dont seem like they go away and less i pull the white stuff off.

My first doctor that i saw put some sort of acid on it and it turned white like. He said if they werent genital warts it wouldnt have turned white then he said after that he didnt know that much about genital warts and wasnt that educated, I asked if he thought they where sebacious glands, and he didnt know what they where.

Then i went to see another doctor again who has had experience with genital warts for 30 years (he said), he put vinager on my penis no white stuff appeared but some red stuff did he didnt think i had genital warts but prescribed me medicine, this acid stuff i was to put on these white bumps type things. After i was done it didnt really get rid of it except maybe 1, i went to see him he said i didnt have genital warts there should of been a plaque left over and he said the bumps werent like genital warts but i dont know.

the girl i hadsex with had a supposive miscarriage and here vagina stunk later and she even had cervical a long time after i had sex with her i dont know what to think? I hope i dont have genital warts what do you think?
