Blue spots on lips

by oxipol, Apr 23, 2004 12:00AM
I have blue spots at the corners of my bottom lip. Lately, they have formed blisters, like blood blister. Can you tell me what these are, what causes them, and treatment, removal, etc. Are they cancerous, or pre-cancerous. Thank you for your help.

You don't give your age, but the only thing that comes to mind is a venous lake.  This is a collection blood under the lip that occurs near the corners of the mouth.  It isn't serious and does not need to be removed.  If that's what it is and it bothers you, light electric current can cauterize it off.

Please show the problem to a skin doctor for diagnosis and possible removal.

Take care.
