Bumps on Inner Thigh

by akgirl23, Jan 31, 2006 12:00AM
For maybe six months or before I noticed a purplish dot on my left inner thigh and one on my right inner thigh, kind of in the groin area.  Then lately I have noticed a couple of other bumps on my right inner thigh and they become irritated when I wear certain pants, or when I sweat, or when my legs rub together from walking.

I was diagnosed with HSV-2 3 years ago and I have become accostumed with the symptoms and I am almost positive these spots are not herpes.  They do not itch and they do not hurt unless like I said they have become irritated.  The spots sometimes become raised and kind of hurt when you push down.  There is no head to them and then the bumps go down but not completely away.  You can see the purple spot.  Its seems like the skin is maybe a little discolored around the spots.  What could this be?? Is it an ingrown hair? or what I have no idea and i am soo worried.  I looked up information on warts but they don't look like warts.  They aren't clusters or white and again they do not itch or burn what so ever. I've tried popping them but they don't really pop.  Please help.  I have a doctors appointment for later in the week but its really eating away at me.  I am very paranoid when it come to stuff like this and  if someone could lead me in the right direction to what this could be it would be very very helpful! Thanks!

I think these are blocked follicles.  They do not sound anything like herpes or warts.  I'm confident that your doctor will tell you that when you go.  meantime, please leave the spots alone.  Thanks.
