Pustules and now ulcers?

by Renee35, Aug 26, 2006 12:00AM
I went out and purchased a yeast cream like you recommended. I started putting it on yesterday. My new sypmtoms have me really freaking out now. Yesterday I felt another raised area it felt like a lump and then I noticed a white lesion there, it is painful. The area is very red and it has a large lump with a lesion on top. Kind of like a canker sore? This morning I when I woke up I noticed that my lips were really sore and when I looked I saw another 8-10 of these lesions only they are really small, but they do hurt. I do plan on calling another derm. on MOnday and being seen by someone different. I mean I have had this rash with these pustules on my lips for over a month now. I am just concerned about my new symptom. My lips are very red now could this redness and ulcers be because of the creams the derm. put me on? I know he said one was to peel the skin. Or is this a symptom that could go along with a possible yeast infection? Or lastly is this something serious that is just another thing added to whatever has taken over my lip?I have had a canker sore before and this hurts like a canker sore, but it doesn't look like the usual canker sore. These are towards the inside of my lip but they are still on my lip I thought you get canker sores inside the mouth. could this be these pustule things turning into something else? At least before it didn't hurt.

To be honest, I can't see anything is your description that should make you worry at all, much less freak out.  It seems to me that you're associating a lot of things that have nothing to do with each other.  The spots on your lip could hardly be pustules--those don't affect the lip, and wouldn't last a month.

By all means see another dermatologist, or call your former one and ask about potential irritation from whatever was prescribed.  But while you wait for more reassurance, I really think you should chill.

Take care.
