Can you please answer some questions that I have been unable to get answers to. 16 weeks ago I had a cataract op. & IOL to my right eye. I was told I would be like new within two moths. I had problems from the beggining, and I am still experiencing, i.e. unable to focus immediately on any subject, some dizziness, some blurring, and trouble with my balance. I was given glasses but they did not work. They made me nauseous. When I asked what was wrong, the doctor told me he had never had that problem before. I went to another doctor and to this date I have had 3 different glasses prescribed. None of which has helped. On my insurance papers he wrote a diagnosis of "PSEUDOPHAKIA". I do not know what that means, nor do I know if there is treatment for it. I did not wear glasses before the surgery and I am frustrated as to why my vision is worse than it was before the surgery. The present doctor wants to send me to another specialist. I am thinking that perhaps I should go to an eye clinic such as Doheney Eye Institute or go to another specialist. In my work I sometimes have to transport other people and I am afraid of that. It has affected my driving confidence. My eyes are exhausted all of the time. Am I going to be like this from this point on? What would you recommend? Thank you so much for your help...

joan-
pseudo ( = fake ) phakia ( =lens ) means "fakelens" and it simply describes the fact that u have an artificial lens implant- nothing else. without examining u it would be difficult to give u an answer for your problems, of course- still I wonder if u are not having trouble with a difference between the glass prescriptions of your operated and non operated eye- this is called anisimetropia and it can cause many of the symptoms u r describing- ask the specialist that u r reffered to about this- it is a correctable situation good luck
