Question Title: acute fatty liver of pregnacy

Forum: The Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases Forum
Topic: Liver - General

I am wondering if there is any information available to
me regarding an infant born to a mom with this diagnosis that
survived a stormy course in the hospital and now needs much
supportive care. Do the infants usually die? If they survive is
there a typical prognosis in regards to neurological development?
Or is this more likely related to the neonatal course than the
initial diagnosis of the mom? I cant seem to find much about the
infants prognosis in my reading. Suggested sources would be
appreciated as well as any information available.
Are there liver concerns for the infant as it grows? This baby
has seizures, increased tone, abnormal reflexes, and problems
with reflux. Growth and develoment are both delayed.
