Question Title: Umbillical Hernia

Forum: The Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases Forum
Topic: Crohn's

Two Years ago I had surgery for a small gumball sized umbillical hernia. Two months after the surgery,it was back. I revisited the surgeon and he said not to worry until it becomes the size of a fist. The hernia is only slightly sore after exercise. My question is... should I be concerned now or just wait till it becomes bigger. I do have Crohns disease which is in remission.

Dear kevin,
I would accept the advice of the surgeon and not worry at this time. If pain at the hernia site iincreases, then you should return to the physician even if the hernia has not increased in size.
