I am being treated for chronic pancreatitis, gastroparesis, and IBS . I am currently looking for any suggestions on how to cope with the physical symptoms of these problems. What meds., treatments, or remodies have worked? Looking for people to share especially if they have been using a morphine pump. It has been reccommended and I would like to hear from anyone that has used it.

Dear Beth,
Chronic pancreatitis can produce an incapacitating pain,, as you are aware. In our practice we have had much success using Duragesic analgesic patches. In a small subset of patients, there is a single streicture of the pancreatic duct and in this group surgical treatment may be effective. In general, however, surgery does not relieve the pain of chronic pancreatitis.
