Question Title: arrhythmia and tachycardia and the g.i.Forum: The Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases Forum

I am sorry, I seem to have made a mistake in responding to a thread rather than writing my own question. Please excuse me, I have never been to this forum before. I would like to know if there is a centre where the relationship between cardiac arrhythmias and the gut is recognised and treated. I am now 58 and am concerned about how long my heart can handle these intense episodes, which always seem related to food intake. I get both short runs of abnormal beats and up to 4 hour attacks of tachycardia and belching {rates up to 150 beats}. I take metoprolol and ativan during a severe attack, and also GasX. I wish I could prevent them. For a long time they were diagnosed as panic attacks, but that diagnosis has now been withdrawn due to the severity and prolongation of symptoms and the accompanying gastric symptoms. I do hope you can advise me. This is really affecting my life. The short arrhythmias are the worst as I feel dizzy and as if they won't stop. A belch helps stop them. _____ This information is presented for educational purposes. Ask specific questions to your personal physician. HFHSM.D.-rf
