my son has been diagnosed with eosiniphillic gastroenteritis. as a result of this disease, he vomits regularly, and until very recently has failed to gain weight or grow in height. in november, he had a gj tube put in as his stomach empties very slowly. after endoscopy, eosiniphils were found in his esophagus, and are believed to be in the muscle layer of his stomach. he has been taking prednisone since last april, and is currently on a dosage of 10ml alternating with 8 mls, daily. he also takes neo-calglucon, and omiprozole. he was taking propulsid, and then switched to reglan, but these drugs did not help.food elimination due to suspected food allergies have not helped. is ther any other drug or treatment of any kind that may help my son? his doctor is not at all happy with the way he has responded to prednisone. thank you for your time. ____ this information is presented for educational purposes only.
