Question Title: IBS v. endoForum: The Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases Forum

Does anyone know if there are any symptomatic differences between IBS & endometriosis, however small? I always thought endo only flared up w/periods. Can it still do its dirty work the rest of the month too? ___ Dear Ann, The pain of endometriosis does not fluctuate with hormonallevels and, therefore, can be present the entire month. To determine if you have endometriosis or IBS, you would require a pelvic examination. barium studies of the gastrointestinal tract, possibly CT scans of the abdomen and maybe laparoscopy. This information is provided for educational purposes only. Always ask your personalphysician questions regarding specific health issues.
