Just wanted to let you know I can relate. If you ever want to talk, you know where to find me.
someone who is already infected. Another source might be
contaminated food or water. Be careful about the antibiotic
treatment though. It is very aggressive treatment and sometimes
treatment itself can cause additional gastritis. I went thru
the treatment myself twice. I did not have any stomach problems
or signs of ulcer prior to the treatment. However, after
finishing two rounds of antibiotic treatments, I started to
develop severe acid reflux and stomach that is burning all
day long. Many people are facing this problem. Go to the

I am a registered pharmacist in N.H. and I might be able to help with your daughter's questions. The Prevpac is generally well tolerated by patients. Sometimes, doctors just use the Biaxin (clarithromycin) 500 mg twice daily (BID) for 14 days to eradicate H.Pylori. Since the inception of the Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI's), the two are often combined because stomach acid obviously irritates ulcers. Most common side effects for the Trimox, Biaxin and Prevacid are loose stools, headache, and gastric pain. There is a risk of a secondary yeast infection depending on the duration of the treatment (because of the Trimox). For this, her doctor can prescribe Diflucan--it is just 1 pill and is quite effective.
Hope this helps!
