Please help me .I had surgery last week for a anal fistual & absess and I went to the dr. yesterday because I still have bm coming out of my vagina and now my dr. wants me to see another dr, STAT.My dr who did the surgery is a gynecologist/ now he is sending me to a gynecologist/onocologist.Why would I havve to see a cancer specialist for this?

i am not sure but i can tell you that you are intiteled to any and all information regarding your results or why he is sending you to an oncoligist.give he or she a call and let them know you want this explained to you fully and in layman terms so you can understand .i have had a few fistulas myself they were repaired is it possible he or she screwed the operation up.and if so they are required by law to inform you.wishing you well.

I don't know why they would be sending you to an oncologist. Sounds like you should go to a Colon/Rectal specialist. I had a perianal cyst removed in April of last year. I developed a fistula after that surgery and the surgeon referred me to the Colon/Rectal Specialist who repaired the fistula. I hope you get to the bottom of this before too long. baseball mom is very much on the money. she is correct it does not make a lot of sense. again i would call and make them explain in detail why you need to see oncologist.best of luck and god bless.
