Anal fistula

Please help me .I had surgery last week for a anal fistual & absess and I went to the dr. yesterday because I still have bm coming out of my vagina and now my dr. wants me to see another dr, STAT.My dr who did the surgery is a gynecologist/ now he is sending me to a gynecologist/onocologist.Why would I havve to see a cancer specialist for this?

i am not sure  but i can tell you that you are intiteled to any and all information regarding your results or why he is sending you to an oncoligist.give he or she a call and let them know you want this explained to you fully and in layman terms so you can understand .i have had a few fistulas myself they were repaired is it possible he or she  screwed the operation up.and if so they are required by law to inform you.wishing you well.

I don't know why they would be sending you to an oncologist.  Sounds like you should go to a Colon/Rectal specialist.  I had a perianal cyst removed in April of last year.  I developed a fistula after that surgery and the surgeon referred me to the Colon/Rectal Specialist who repaired the fistula.   I hope you get to the bottom of this before too long.  Take care and best wishes.

baseball mom is very much on the money.  she is correct it does not make a lot of sense. again i would call and make them explain in detail why you need to see oncologist.best of luck and god bless.
