I have been addicted to Vicodin and used to take it for five years

I now stopped and have been clean for one week.  My right side hurts and has been for three weeks.  I went to the doctor and he said my SGOT is 50 and SGPT is 87. My bili is 2.1.

I am worried I have done irreprable harm to my liver.  I stayed around 6 Norco per day for five years.  10/325.

One every four to six hours.

I am miserable now. Detoxing and right side pain.  I cry frequently.  The doctor wants to do an Ultra Sound of my abdomen and liver area.  What do any of you think might be wrong??

Help.

i do know that vicodin can do damage to the liver if taken for long periods of time or in large doses i for one have taken it prior to and after some of my surgeries i would like to say there's nothing to worry about but 5years is long time for any drug thatis labeled for possible liver damage i would sugest that you go ahead with the test your dr.has recomended so you can find out if in fact there is liver damage and how much .the good news the liver is the one organ that will regenerate itself(repair damaged tisue)this is however depending on the type and severity of damage.here is a web site that may help on vicodine information regarding the afects it has on the liver and other possible health risk.( www.druginfonet.com )best of luck and god bless.
