Anyone who has had an ERCP done, were you able to go back to work the next day or take care of your family?  how about 2 days later. I have one next Thursday and usually DH works on SAt and I take care of the kids. I need to know to if he needs to take Sat off.  Also if I can plan on working on friday. This is providing

I dont have complications.

Thanks!

I've had 2 ERCP's and I felt kind of wiped out for a few days, just weak, drowsy and dizzy feeling, I also have other health problems though too, so your's may be different and you'll feel good enough to work the next day, the sedatives they give you usually last a few hours, but it takes 24 hours I think for them to wear off completely, so if you do choose to work the next day, just be careful with driving or operating machinery.

good luck!

Hi Sandy:

I read your post and I felt compelled to write my thoughts on the ERCP.  I don't think you should plan on going to work the next day.  The reason being is when I had mine done, I was one of the 5% that gets Pancreatitis from the procedure.  I was in the hospital for 3 days.  Then I was out of work another month with Acute Pancreatitis.  So thinking that you can go right to work the next day, might be a bit optomistic.  I hope you don't have any problems.  Make sure you find out how many times your doctor has done this procedure.  Mine had done over a thousand of them and I still had problems.  Best of luck to you.  Have a GREAT day!

After my ERCP I felt a little ill for a few hours, but had no problem taking the wheel for the ride home. Next day I was fine.
