Has anyone had a 24 hr ph? and what is a normal level?I heard anything under 4.0 means acid build up . IF you had this test can you tell me everything about it. I just had it and i am waiting for results. Thank you
I don't know what numbers are normal or indicitive of problems in relation to the 24 hr ph test. I had the test in the fall, and what my doctors learned from it was not only that my acid levels were abnormal but more importantly that the esophageal manometry test(the initial test once the tube is in place where they test the pressure of the valve at the base of your swallowing tube)showed that I had o% pressure at the valve and that was what was causing all of stomach acid and food to regurgate back into my mouth. Those test results have brought me to my next stage; which is Nissen surgery, where they recreate the valve.
Good Luck.
